The Big Fair
Each August, Lamar holds the largest free fair in Missouri. It's really a big deal. The kids get out of school for a day and a half just because of the fair! It's set up on the town square, with the livestock in the parking lot next to the Lamar bank. Yee-haw! We were there each of the three days and had a dandy time. (The fair closes after Saturday night. Guess what? Hardly any public events are scheduled on Sunday in this town. Right on!)

I love the small town festivity! Dang. I wish we'd get time off to go to the fair. Sweet!
I think Lamar seems like a really happening small town! What an exciting fair--and all free too!!
